Cinematic Sound Radio makes its long-awaited return after a six-month hiatus with a program that I’m sure
you are going to love. Guest host Tim Burden sits down for an exclusive chat with Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning composer, Bruce Broughton. During this first part of a two-part special Broughton discussed in great detail working on such projects like THE BLUE AND THE GREY, SILVERADO, YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES, THE BOY WHO COULD FLY, RESCUERS DOWN UNDER, HONEY, I BLEW UP THE KID and many more.

EXCELLENT interview! Looking forward for Part II!
Thanks for posting the interview Erik. Also thanks to Tim and Bruce for such an enthusiastic discussion. It’s nice to hear a composer talk about their music in the context of a film. Strangely, I was preparing to watch Silverado just about the time the interview appeared here!
Would have liked to hear Bruce’s thoughts on scoring Monster Squad.
Will be listening to part 2 when available.
Excellent program as usual! I love Broughton. Silverado is in my list of scores that have influenced me to be a composer. Hearing the evolution of his career was enlightening, and also the way you put the different cues together helped you hear his growth as a composer on a thematic level. It was encouraging and also informative for me. Thanks!
Wonderful interview. Broughton is so soft spoken. Terrific composer.
