So, wow! I’m sitting here with John Williams’ Cello Concerto filling my office, trying to find the right words, and honestly, it’s a bit hard. But here goes nothing!
First of all, I just wanted to say a huge thanks to you all for sticking with the show even though the number of episodes produced, especially mine, dwindled a bit in 2023. As some of you know, I’ve been travelling across Canada and throughout the United States working on a massive multi-part video series celebrating the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF). The RCAF turns 100 in February 2024. It’s been an absolute honour to work alongside such dedicated professionals, and the experiences I’ve gained have been both challenging and rewarding.
While it’s been an amazing adventure, juggling these commitments has left me with little time to dedicate to the podcast. I truly appreciate your understanding and patience during this period. Every time I think about the possibility of “hanging them up” due to the lack of time dedicated to the podcast, I think of all of you out there STILL listening, enjoying the show, and sending in your words of support and encouragement. It feels amazing and means a lot. Like, a whole lot. I raise a glass to you!
As we wrap up 2023, let’s look ahead to 2024. We’ve got some pretty neat shows lined up. Seriously, our team is working hard to bring you some awesome content. From diving deep into classic film scores, introducing you to the best of the new, to chatting with folks in the industry, we are putting all of our efforts into raising our game to bring you the best possible soundtrack podcast we can.
So I guess what I’m trying to convey is that I truly appreciate each and every one of you. This whole podcast is worth it because of your passion for the music from film, TV and video games. Let’s maintain the positive energy, lively dialogue, and enjoyable music into the new year!
Alright, enough of me blabbering on. We wish you all, amazing listeners, a fun-filled year full of more amazing soundtracks in 2024.
Take care, and happy listening!
