On this week’s episode of CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO, we’ll be featuring music from four brand new scores. We open the program with music from Thomas Wander and Harald Kloser’s INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE. You’ll also hear selections from John Williams’ THE BFG, Ramin Djawadi’s music from the sixth season of GAME OF THRONES and Thomas Newman’s new music from Pixar’s FINDING DORY
Our re-recording of the week comes from the film THE THING FROM ANOTHER WORLD released in 1951 featuring an original score by Dimitri Tiomkin. Charles Gerhardt conducts the National Philharmonic.
Our video game score of the week is STARCRAFT II: WINGS OF LIBERTY featuring the music of Russell Brower, Glenn Stafford, Derek Duke, Neal Acree, Sascha Dikiciyan and Cris Velasco.
And our film music vault selection is David Arnold’s brilliant score to the 1996 film INDEPENDENCE DAY. We’ll feature a lengthy suite at the end of the program, which will include Arnold’s spectacular end credit cue.
