A few days ago, I officially announced that I was now a part of Bute Island Radio in Scotland and had produced two programs. The first show aired a few weeks ago, but when I tuned in this past Wednesday to hear my show, it was nowhere to be found. So, I emailed my friend, the music director of Bute Island Radio, Gerry Gallagher, to find out what was going on, and the news he forwarded me was devastating. No one died but there was a health emergency, the details of which I will keep private. Due to those unfortunate circumstances, my friend, Gerry Gallagher, had to resign from the station. That meant I was going with him. By the way, Gerry is fine, the health emergency happened to someone else at the station.
You can hear the two episodes I produced for the station HERE and HERE.
Now, all of this isn’t all bad news. Gerry also stated in his email to me that Bute Island Radio had had a significant influence on him and that he intends to bring back WROCK Radio, which I was a part of for a few years beginning in 2016. The audience for that streaming station was enormous and our own listener numbers were in the tens of thousands per show. That’s when I really saw an uptick in our numbers here, which really exploded in 2016.
Gerry is now setting up the new WROCK Radio studio, and CINEMATIC SOUND RADIO will be a part of it when it is ready to launch.
Now, I’ve decided that future episodes of my “Bute Island Radio” formatted show will continue to follow that format and weekly schedule, but there may be weeks when there are no new shows. I’ll be away from my “home base” for a total of three weeks between September 2 and October 9 as I continue to work on a significant project for the RCAF that requires me to visit Victoria, British Columbia, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and Edmonton, Alberta.
That’s all for now. Until then, continue to enjoy all of the programming here at cinematicsound.net Lots of great shows are in the queue for you to enjoy!
