Watching Ready Player One I couldn’t help and grin as the BTTF music came on during the Zemeckis Cube scene. And hearing the Lost in Space JW theme in this new reboot just is pure delight. This is going to be a tough year to put together a Top 10 list I think!
I agree. The year has started off very strong. Hopefully, the greatness continues for the rest of the year!
Great episode Erik.
I bought the Varèse “The Fury” CD back in ’94 and it’s been a firm favourite ever since.
Mark McKenzie … I remember the long-since defunct Gramophone Film Music Good CD Guide hailing him as the next John Williams on the strength of his score to ‘Dr. Jekyll And Ms. Hyde’ so I was sad not to see his career develop into major a-list movies. Hey ho – we all know composers can and do write great stuff for minor-league films … it’s just harder to learn about them! So, if Sony decide not to do a CD release of that ‘Max & Me’ (which I agree sounds jolly good from the clips you played) then that’s a shame, but I suppose these labels are always making their judgements based on the economics of likely buyer numbers…
