Could not agree with you more about your overall take on Williams’ LAST JEDI score. I would have to say it is the weakest of his Star Wars scores to date, for the exact reasons you mention – not enough really new material (though Rose’s theme is quite nice, if a bit Harry Potterish and thus a bit prequelish), too many apparently verbatim interpolations of concert arrangements, yet another going back to the well of the TIE combat scene from Ep IV (much as he rehashed it in a concert arrangement for ROTJ), and WHAT a disappointing end credits suite. (Though I do like the solo piano playing Leia’s theme when the dedication to Carrie Fisher appears.) But for all that it isn’t a *bad* score or CD overall, even if it is a letdown from Force Awakens.

    Great show, as always!
