James Horner, the legendary film composer, has left an indelible mark on the world of movie music. His works in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s continue to resonate with audiences worldwide. Now, PERSEVERANCE RECORDS, in collaboration with SPECTRAL SHIMMERS PRODUCTIONS and THE JAMES HORNBER ESTATE, is embarking on a remarkable project: re-recording and releasing renditions of Horner’s early, previously unreleased musical compositions.
In this special edition of TALKING SOUNDTRACKS, Jason Drury talks to orchestrator Nikiforos Chrysoloras and PERSEVERANCE RECORDS founder and producer Robin Esterhammer about the project, as well as talking about their love of James Horner’s music.
You will also be hearing exclusive mock-up clips of the two scores which are being re-recorded, THE HAND and THE DRESSER as well as a mock-up clip of “Pentimenti”, one of the early concert pieces composed by James Horner, due to be recorded during the planned session.
