THE ARCHIVE WITH JASON DRURY: EPISODE 45

In a show jam-packed with superb music, Jason Drury opens with a 10-minute suite of Christopher Young’s new soundtrack for the 1922 silent horror classic, NOSFERATU A SYMPONY OF HORROR (Warner Classics).

Jason then moves on to selections from John Williams’ 2000 score THE PATRIOT, which Intrada Records recently released to commemorate its 25th anniversary, Trevor Jones’ score for the 1982 Jim Henson-directed dark fantasy THE DARK CRYSTAL (La La Land Records), and, as a tribute to the late John Morgan, music from the 1982 sci-fi horror THE AFTERMATH (Dragon Domain Records).

The show continues with a 2024 re-recording of Dimitri Tiomkin’s score for the 1958 adventure drama THE OLD MAN AND THE SEA (Intrada Records), followed by music from the 1972 science fiction horror film HORROR EXPRESS by John Cavacas (Quartet Records/Citadel Records), and selections from Nile Rodgers’ score for the 1994 comedy sequel BEVERLEY HILLS COP III (La La Land Records).

Jason concludes the episode by playing music from John Williams’ STAR WARS: EPISODE III – REVENGE OF THE SITH (Sony Classical), which is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year

Enjoy!

As always, thank you for sharing these. This one caught my attention because I’ve seen the silent 1922 “Nosferatu” a dozen times accompanied by orchestra, cinema organs, and a10,000 pipe Skinner organ. Id really like to see it with Christopher Young’s soundtrack.
